Chapter 2 - Even though life changes, but you think they're going according to your plans . . .We arrived in the neon land on Friday, April 6th. The move was very easy, just preparing a few suitcases with clothes and personal belongings. I mainly brought, as personal belongings, 3 laptops that I had won in competitions, an IBM ThinkPad T20 from 2000, which, although it was already 2 years old, was one of the best for professional purposes at the time, a Sony Vaio PCG-X505 that I took to competitions for its slim and elegant design, it felt good in my arms; and an Apple computer I won last year, the Apple MacBook that, although it had software limitations at the time, was very good for home entertainment, and why not, to show off having a Mac.
Since we didn't have to worry about housing or furniture, the company that hired my mother provided us with a two-story residence with 4 bedrooms on the second floor, 2 guest rooms on the first floor, plus a living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathrooms upstairs and downstairs, a large backyard, and a 5-meter front garden, there was no garage, so the front garden had room for one vehicle. A big change of life, from our small house to a large quasi-villa. Even with the legally-won cash prizes and scholarships, although we weren't poor, we weren't rich either. This change to a big house feels good.
