Chapter 1237: Affectionate
Chapter 1237: Affectionate
"What are you thinking about? Why are you so absent-minded?" Qi Yao asked in a low voice.
Seventeen was stunned for a moment, then came to his senses and smiled, "No, I finally understand why the most clients specifically look for you."
"Why?" Qi Yao asked with a smile.
"Cool."
"Hahaha..." Qi Yao laughed out loud, took off his white coat and walked out of the hospital with Shiqi, "What do you want to eat?"
"all good."
Qi Yao smiled and said, "Let's go buy some food and I'll cook it for you in the dormitory."
"Can you?" Seventeen asked.
"Yes, I've lived alone for many years, and these are necessary survival skills." Qi Yao answered while taking the bag from Seventeen's shoulder and holding it naturally in his hand. The two walked side by side.
He is tall, even at seventeen, but he is still a long way short of Qi Yao, so Qi Yao would deliberately lower his head when talking, trying to shorten the distance between them.
"Let's fry a small steak. There seems to be some wine in the dormitory." Seventeen said with a smile.
"Row!"
For Qi Yao, the thing that is most not difficult for him is probably cuisine from various countries.
Seventeen had only recently begun living alone in the dorm. Even when she was studying abroad, Zhou Haoyu was always with her, and she had never left the house alone. During the two years since she returned to China, her husband rarely came home, and that's when she began trying to learn cooking.
I was also scared at first when entering the supermarket. For people with poor sense of direction, walking into a mall means getting lost. I often go to the wrong exit and then stand outside in a daze.
There is a big supermarket next to the hospital, on the underground first floor of the shopping mall. Seventeen went there twice and never went there alone again. She either went with the nurse in the dormitory or with other doctors because she couldn't give directions.
But the rest of the hospital, the nurses and doctors, were reluctant to go with her. They were the boss, after all. She felt relieved to be with her, but the others around her felt awkward. After a couple of times, they found excuses to avoid going, and others preferred to go alone rather than with her.
"Do you come to the supermarket often?" Seventeen asked Qi Yao.
Qi Yao shook his head, "Very rarely."
He rarely cooks in the dormitory and only comes to buy necessary daily necessities.
"But you seem very familiar with this place." Seventeen pointed at several directions to turn. She had forgotten them all by the time she turned the third one, which was why she didn't want to come here alone.
"..." Qi Yao was silent, but understood, "You'll get used to it after a few more walks."
The two of them went downstairs from the side of the fast food restaurant and then turned into the supermarket. Once they entered the supermarket, Seventeen completely became a follower. She didn't know how to buy anything.
Qi Yao passed by a section of daily necessities and picked up a pair of slippers and threw them into the car. Shiqi immediately asked him curiously.
"Hey, you didn't even look at the number."
"As for slippers, they can be worn big or small." Qi Yao said as Seventeen had already picked up the slippers from the car. "Size 45?"
"You can wear it." Qi Yao nodded.
"Oh." Seventeen put the shoes in the car and expressed admiration for the accuracy of his visual inspection.
This must be related to his profession. Surgeries that require surgery must be precise to the millimeter.
See, that's the good thing about going to the supermarket with someone who has their own opinions: she doesn't have to think about what to buy at all. It's a wonderful feeling. Because most people just wander around aimlessly, maybe walking around the supermarket many times, looking at the dazzling array of things but not knowing what they need.
Seventeen followed Qi Yao closely, and because he would look back at her from time to time, she simply left her hands on the bike and walked side by side with him.
"Would you choose beef?" Seventeen asked Qi Yao.
"No." Qi Yao confessed.
"Huh? What should we do then? Just pick any one?" Seventeen asked again.
Qi Yao was silent for a moment. "The fresh meat at this time won't be very fresh, but we don't buy much, so we can pick out some good ones. If you need a large quantity, it's best to come in the morning."
"Oh..." Seventeen was not interested in this.
When they got to the beef section, Qi Yao glanced at the price and asked the staff to pick out some. "Twenty yuan for the fresher meat."
"How much is twenty yuan? It's less than a pound." Seventeen muttered in a low voice.
"Well, not yet." Qi Yao put the beef that the people inside had recommended into the cart, held Shiqi's shoulder with one hand, pushed the cart with the other hand, and naturally led people to the vegetable area.
Seventeen was being pushed by Qi Yao and didn't notice these details for a moment.
"Can you buy some broccoli?" Seventeen turned around and asked Qi Yao.
Qi Yao pulled his hand away and answered the phone, "Okay, buy it."
He answered the phone with one hand and held Seventeen's shoulder with the other hand. Seventeen looked up at Qi Yao who was answering the phone. It was a client who was recovering from surgery and probably encountered some difficulties.
Seventeen didn't even realize he was pushing the cart. He just stood there looking at Qi Yao as he talked on the phone.
Qi Yao looked at her as he spoke, his gaze filled with a warmth that could melt icebergs and snowy rivers. At this hour, with so many people coming and going, it was inevitable that they would bump into her. Qi Yao put the shopping cart aside and immediately brought Seventeen to his side.
The two of them were very close to each other. Qi Yao was leaning against the shelf, holding his mobile phone in one hand, staring at Shi Qi, and holding her shoulder with the other hand. Shi Qi didn't know what she saw, but looked straight at Qi Yao. The two looked at each other, but they didn't feel awkward at all, and were smiling.
Qi Yao had hung up the phone, but he still maintained the same posture, his eyes fixed on her face, their gazes intertwined with hers.
"What are you looking at?" Qi Yao asked.
"Are you done?" Seventeen asked. "What happened to that guy? Did he eat anything?"
"Well, there was a customer who had his bones shaved. Maybe our nurse didn't explain it clearly, so something went wrong." Qi Yao smiled, his eyes still lingering on her face.
"What did you drink? You can drink liquid water or milk." Seventeen said again.
It was obvious that Qi Yao didn't want to talk about others, but she had to explain again, "She ate some soaked oatmeal, and the oatmeal residue remained in her mouth, causing inflammation and swelling. She will be scheduled for surgery to remove it tomorrow."
"How do you make oatmeal?" Seventeen frowned. How could he eat oatmeal if he couldn't even drink porridge?
Even if the nurse didn't tell you one by one, you should know that porridge is forbidden, so how can cereal be allowed?
Bone shaving is very painful, and just because of one's carelessness, one has to suffer again.
Seventeen suddenly laughed and said, "I think that girl must want to die when she knows she needs to go into the operating room again."
"Hahaha..." Qi Yao laughed heartily. Seventeen looked at Qi Yao in confusion, paused, and asked uncertainly, "So, you are gloating?"
Qi Yao patted Shiqi's shoulder, turned sideways, took a head of broccoli and put it in the car, "No, I just remembered something else."
Qi Yao continued to push the cart, with one hand gently resting on Shiqi's shoulder, searching for the ingredients he needed.
