Chapter 1203 - 1242: Kindergarten Sports Day
Mabel could only suggest that her daughter pay a little more attention to Bella Field at kindergarten. After all, no matter how adults behave, children might argue today but play together tomorrow. There’s no such thing as holding grudges overnight.
However, she didn’t expect to hear from her daughter that Bella Field was transferring schools.
And when the weekend arrived, it was time for the kindergarten’s parent-child sports day. Alice Conley and Dorian Howards came along and accompanied the little one to kindergarten.
"Will Daddy come today?" Katherine Quinn, the little kid, asked.
"He won’t. Daddy has something to do today," Mabel replied. This wasn’t something Kyle Kinston had specifically mentioned, but she saw the news reporting there was an important memorial event in G City today where many high-level leaders were attending, and Kyle was naturally among them.
The little one’s face showed clear disappointment. After all, it was the first time she had a daddy, but now he couldn’t attend the sports day.
Alice Conley chimed in, "There’s always your godfather and godmother! Look, other kids only have their mom and dad accompanying them, but you have three people!"
After Alice said that, the little one finally smiled and proudly felt she had an extra person compared to other children.
At kindergarten, the other parents greeted Mabel as usual. She figured the parents probably weren’t aware of Mrs. Field’s situation. However, some teachers were especially warm when they saw her, and Mabel naturally understood why.
The kindergarten sports day consisted of various parent-child activities. Due to Mabel’s leg condition, she sat on the sidelines, while Alice and Dorian put in a lot of effort to accompany the little one in all kinds of activities.
Seeing her daughter’s increasingly excited expression, Mabel was quite grateful to Alice and Dorian. Without them, her daughter might not have been this happy today.
"By the way, have you heard? Mrs. Field is transferring her daughter, seemingly related to her husband," a parent somewhat familiar with Mabel came over to gossip.
Mabel was slightly startled, "Related to her husband?"
"That’s right, her husband was originally a director at the education bureau, but for some reason, he was demoted and reassigned to a remote, underdeveloped town’s education bureau as an ordinary clerk. There’s clearly no future in that. I wonder whom he offended?" the parent said. "Mrs. Field used to flaunt her husband’s status, but now let’s see what she’s proud of."
The parent’s tone was somewhat gloating.
But thinking of Mrs. Field’s words and actions that day, Mabel felt no sympathy whatsoever; she just wondered if this had anything to do with Kyle Kinston.
Just then, her daughter came running up to her, her little face full of excitement, exclaiming that with the help of her godparents, she was the first to complete the card-collecting game.
Mabel smiled as she wiped her daughter’s sweat, while Alice and Dorian also came over. Mabel said to them, "Thank you for today."
"What’s there to thank for! I should thank you for letting me experience the joy of having a daughter," Alice said. You see, ever since having her son, she’s always wanted to have a daughter, but unfortunately, all these years she hasn’t conceived again. The hospital checks showed that everything was normal for both her and her husband.
