Chapter 328 Patent Strangulation
Chapter 328 Patent Strangulation
Dr. Li hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.
I was lying in bed, and he was next to me fiddling with his thing, the instrument in his hand was ice cold.
"Excessive fatigue, slight bronchitis, further examination is needed."
As he spoke, he looked down and scribbled something in his notebook.
Song Yafei stood by the bed, anxiously moving her arms while keeping her posture ramrod straight.
"These days, all I do is take care of the kids and stay up late. Even the strongest person couldn't keep up."
Song Yafei's tone was still the same as always, cool and aloof.
No sooner had he finished speaking than the door to the lounge was pushed open again.
Assistant Luo rushed in like a gust of wind, carrying a stack of documents in his hand.
Judging from his expression, I knew it couldn't be anything good.
"President Song!"
Assistant Luo called out to Song Yafei first, then turned his head and looked at me with a long face.
"Hongtu Technology just announced that they will not back down in the patent lawsuit, and they have reportedly hired top lawyers."
Song Yafei's face immediately darkened, and she bit her lip.
"Patent strangulation, Zhang Tian, are you confident?"
I nodded, braced myself on the bed frame with my elbows, and slowly started to lift myself up.
“I have to handle this lawsuit personally. I used to be in charge of sales, and I know all the distributors well.”
Assistant Luo handed me the stack of documents and stuffed them into my hand.
"This lawsuit is too important; we can't afford to make a single mistake."
I took it and said firmly, "The words on it are so dense, they make my eyes dizzy."
I flipped through a couple of pages at random, and my head felt even heavier.
I forced a smile.
"Don't worry, I've got it covered."
"No problem, I can handle it."
My heart was pounding. Dude, you better hold on. Don't give up now.
Stomach pain is bearable, but the mess that follows is truly agonizing.
Song Yafei stared at me for a few seconds, took a deep breath, and then slowly exhaled.
"Zhang Tian, let's go together."
"Make them hand over the stuff while they're crying." Song Yafei's powerful, leading lady aura returned.
"Okay, I'm confident."
I nodded, and subconsciously touched the back of my neck; that area felt stiff.
Lin Qiuran looked at me, then at Song Yafei.
"I'll arrange the court presentation part, but the time is a bit tight."
"It's okay, I'll get on with this."
I put the documents down and thought about the board's plan again.
I'm still not sure if this lawsuit and patent strangulation will really work.
Suddenly, a soft "click" sound came from the side.
Dr. Li put all his equipment into a shiny silver box.
"The examination is complete, Mr. Zhang. Given your condition, you need to rest and avoid getting angry."
He looked at me with a serious expression, not like he was joking.
I grinned and didn't think much of it.
"Understood, Dr. Li, I will be careful."
Dr. Li suddenly raised his voice, glared at me, and then patted me hard on the shoulder.
"When it's time to be tough, be tough! Don't back down! Don't give an inch!"
The way he's talking doesn't sound like a doctor at all; it sounds like he's about to go out and fight someone in the street.
"You don't need to go to the hospital for now. I'll prescribe some medicine for you." He breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, Dr. Li. I'll have someone go with you to get the medicine," Song Yafei said accommodatingly.
I slowly sat up straight, and he naturally reached out and helped me up by the arm.
"Let's go, they're all waiting."
Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable force.
The few of us walked out of the lounge together.
The corridor was dimly lit. Lin Qiuran had already taken out her phone and was rapidly tapping the screen, probably making arrangements for what was to come.
There were a few people nearby who looked like they were from our company. They were looking down and pretending to be busy with their own things, but their eyes were secretly glancing in our direction.
Yeah, the boss is almost dead and he still has to personally get involved in the fight. Who wouldn't be curious?
I was like that, with most of my weight on Song Yafei, being half-supported and half-dragged forward by her.
No one spoke during that time; they went straight to the conference room.
As soon as my hand touched the doorknob of the conference room, I felt a low pressure seeping out from the crack in the door.
Pushing open the door, I found the technical department staff inside.
On the main seat, the technical director sat with his legs crossed and his chin held high.
At the start of the meeting, the technology department began to report on the patented technologies one by one.
I heard it intermittently, and it didn't register with me.
But no matter how hard I tried to concentrate, my eyelids were so heavy they kept drooping.
Just as he reached out to grab the documents on the table, someone pushed the door open and said, "President Song, Hongtu Technology has sent a lawyer."
"Great, it's finally here!"
I clenched my teeth, closed my eyes, and tried to think of what to say. The details of those patent documents flashed through my mind, every diagram, every operating step, and I tried desperately to recall them.
"Arrange for him to be in the president's office," Song Yafei ordered.
"No need!" Hongtu's representative stormed into the conference room, slammed the documents down, and roared, "Hongtu Technology will never accept this kind of patent troll's blackmail!"
The chief lawyer across from me had a loud voice and a very affected manner. He slammed his hand on the table, and spittle almost flew out of my mouth.
I slowly opened my eyes. Although everything in front of me was still dazzling, I tried my best to force a smile.
Keep your voice low and steady, but make sure they can hear every word clearly.
Whether these patents constitute extortion is not up to you to decide.
"Whether you admit it or not, you have to admit it."
"Whether you admit it or not, you have to admit it; the law decides!"
"Hmph, do you even understand trademark law and patent law?!"
The other person snorted and looked disdainful.
Okay, all talk and no action, huh?
Then I'll show you.
I raised my hand and, relying entirely on my memory and intuition, began to gesture and explain the principles of the core technology.
The conference room, which had been buzzing just moments before, suddenly became eerily quiet.
Lin Qiuran raised an eyebrow, her face full of admiration.
I could sense that the people opposite me were starting to feel uncomfortable. Some sat up straight, while others began whispering to each other and exchanging glances, their expressions growing increasingly unpleasant.
Hey, that's interesting. My skills are pretty good!
I was secretly delighted, but I didn't stop talking. I kept bringing out the before-and-after comparison data, aiming to slap them in the face.
I'll use my nearly blind eyes to have a good talk with these tech-illiterate people.
Out of the corner of my eye, I think I caught a glimpse of Song Yafei looking at me.
The coldness in her eyes seemed to have dissipated a bit, replaced by a hint of appreciation.
Is it like you're getting to know me again?
I know that this situation is temporarily under control.
At least we can turn the tide a little.
But I know that the other side hasn't revealed their trump card yet.
That thing is the real killer.
There was a strange smell in the air, I can't quite put my finger on it.
Is it the smell of gunpowder, or something else?
Who knows? Everyone's waiting.
The opposing legal team whispered among themselves, clearly lacking technical knowledge.
But look at this, the chief lawyer is showing a document.
What? A technology patent transfer agreement...
