Chapter 29, The British Chapter: "Point Mass"
Chapter 29, The British Chapter: "Point Mass"
After Möbius left~
As Ming lay alone on the operating table, his consciousness gradually faded. He felt as if he were slowly sinking into a turbulent ocean, gradually descending.
Slowly, Ming sank completely into the seabed, into the deepest, darkest space.
As he sank to the deepest point, Ming slowly opened his eyes, stood up, and walked forward aimlessly.
"Where am I? Ah..." Ming felt a sharp pain in his temples from forcibly suppressing his negative emotions, and instinctively sat down on the ground. "I remember, I was just cooperating with an experiment?"
Just as Ming was enduring his headache and wondering, a sacred light screen suddenly unfolded in front of him, illuminating the deepest part of the originally pitch-black space.
Upon seeing the light screen, Ming seemed to be drawn by an invisible force, his eyes fixed solely on it. He then struggled to his feet and walked step by step toward the light. His hand stretched out forward, as if trying to grasp the radiance.
As Ming approached the end of the light curtain, it began to shrink rapidly, gradually transforming into a blurry, invisible phantom of a giant tree.
This enormous phantom appeared to be a colossal creature, its body composed of countless interwoven, thread-like bands of light. These bands intertwined, weaving a mysterious and beautiful pattern. They shimmered with a faint light, as dazzling as the stars in the universe.
Within this illusion lie mysterious symbols beyond human comprehension. These symbols, like ancient runes, exude a captivating aura, yet simultaneously leave one utterly bewildered and lost. They seem to conceal boundless wisdom and power, awaiting a destined individual to unveil their secrets.
When the word "mysterious" came into Ming's view, he couldn't help but fall into deep thought. The scene displayed by this illusion made him feel an existence beyond human comprehension. It was like a vast and boundless starry sky, full of unknowns and miracles; it was also like a creation of the gods, exuding an irresistible charm.
However, no matter how hard Ming tried, he could not see the true form of this phantom. Its existence seemed to transcend the limitations of time and space, rendering all attempts to decipher it futile. This indescribable mystery filled anyone who saw it with a mixture of excitement and awe at first glance.
"What is this..." Ming's body involuntarily tried to touch the invisible giant tree. "Stop! Wait..." His body was affected by the light emitted by the tree, and he gradually reached out to touch it.
As Ming attempted to touch it, the enormous, invisible tree began to twist, slowly contorting from top to bottom into eleven enormous halos of different colors. The surface of the halos was also engraved with text that, though unfamiliar, was easily recognizable.
Symbols such as "Malkuth [Kingdom]...Yesod [Foundation], Hod [Glory], Netsah [Victory], Tipharreth [Beauty], Geburah [Strictness], Chesed [Compassion], Binah [Understanding], Chhokmah [Wisdom], Kether [Crown]" appear in Ming's sea of consciousness, infinitely releasing the allure of "mystery".
Ming unconsciously reached out, and the giant tree seemed to sense his thoughts, slowly bearing the fruit of "Strictness" from its huge branches. Suddenly, the tree's form changed, filled with pitch blackness, transforming into pure black light, and the originally outstanding "Strictness" became the fruit of "Cruelty".
When the fruit of the tree fell, Ming instinctively caught it with his hands, as if it were the forbidden fruit of Eden, tempting him to eat it.
After receiving the fruit, Ming unconsciously cupped it in his hands and took a bite.
After consuming it, Ming's head throbbed with pain, and countless blood-red images flashed before his eyes. He saw people fighting on the battlefield, heard the desperate cries of soldiers, and heard the wails of countless lives lost in the flames. These memories were so vivid, as if he had experienced them firsthand.
However, in response, a large number of combat skills were forcibly etched into the body, just as every cell was forcibly etched with things that did not belong to them.
After the pain subsided, Ming, his eyes bloodshot, opened them again to look at the fruit. Just as he was about to continue eating, a cane stopped him.
"No way, we only brought you here to test you out, to see if we could steal something else from her. If you steal everything, then Mio will definitely rush in and finish us off." As the voice rang out, Asmodeus's figure drew ever closer.
Ming looked at Asmodeus with a bewildered expression, clearly still recovering from the hallucination. Seeing this, Asmodeus continued:
"While I'm looking forward to seeing you slowly succumb to the power and eventually disappear, it wouldn't be fun if you disappeared now. By the way, I forcibly used up your second chance for you, so you're welcome!"
"So enjoy the pleasure this power brings!" Asmodeus gave a meaningful smile.
Ming felt the power surging within his body, his heart filled with doubt and unease.
However, Ming's eyes became even more glazed. When Ming opened his eyes again from the operating table, he looked at the neat and tidy laboratory around him.
"This is... Möbius's lab? Strange, did I pass out during the surgery? No, I didn't have any nightmares this time. Damn it... I can't remember what just happened... Oh right, I was dissected by that woman. Where is she?"
Ming covered his head and stepped off the lab table. Although he felt as if he had lost some memories, he didn't care. He simply picked up his shirt and put it on.
Ming muttered to himself as he searched for an exit in the laboratory. Once he found it, he pushed it open, ready to go home, when he saw the electronic device that Möbius had left for him right in front of the door.
"Little lab rat, thank you for the experimental data today~ Although it didn't have any practical use, there will be other opportunities in the future. If you need anything, feel free to come to the doctor. Oh, and come for a check-up every Saturday. Okay, go now~ Remember to lock the coffee shop door; there's a key for you at the front desk. Goodbye~"
After reading the letter, Ming casually threw a handful of black flames on the ground, which then burned to ashes. He then walked out of the underground laboratory, went to the still-closed coffee shop, grabbed the key from the front desk, and walked out of the coffee shop to leave.
As soon as he opened the door, Ming looked up at the sky and saw a bright moon hanging high in the sky, realizing that it was already night.
"Oh no, I haven't fed Chestnut yet!" Ming thought to himself, and immediately hailed a taxi to take him home.
Meanwhile, on the other side of Japan, Mio Takamiya casually dealt with the impurity resulting from the failed refinement process. Suddenly, her expression changed slightly. Mio frowned, feeling something was off about her body. Not only that, she also felt a slight loss of power within her.
"What's going on..." Mio murmured, but after thinking about it, she realized it was only a trace and didn't care anymore, continuing to search for a suitable body.
